Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions — Fuel Bill

Clear answers to common questions about methodology, edge cases, and privacy.

Can I use these bills for a fuel reimbursement claim?

Only for fuel you actually bought. Employers usually accept a bill that the station has stamped or signed, backed by the card or UPI transaction. Bills for fuel you didn't buy are a false claim.

Why does the bill work out litres from the amount?

Most fill-ups are for a round amount such as ₹2,000. Dividing it by the pump rate gives the quantity the dispenser showed, to two decimal places. CNG is sold by the kg, so it is billed per kg.

Is fuel reimbursement taxable?

If the car is used only for official work and your employer keeps the required records, it is not taxed. When your employer reimburses running costs of your own car that you also use personally, the Income-tax Rules, 2026 leave ₹5,000 a month (₹7,000 for engines above 1.6 litres) out of the taxable perquisite, and the rest is taxed as salary.

Is my data saved?

No. Bills are generated in your browser and nothing you type is sent or stored.
